The coffee table is almost done! Woohoo! Levi has helped me out so much with it too! He bought me a Husky paint sprayer and started at it.

It took a little bit to get it to spray how we wanted but we got it down.

Isn't it beautiful!

I decided to go with Behr Peacock Feather paint instead of Behr Peacock Blue paint.

Kayla came and enjoyed being outside too before the rain came and brought the cold again.

My wonderful husband started sanding down the coffee table for me! Isn't he great! Underneath all the not so pretty painting job done by the previous owner was a not so pretty wood design. Levi thinks it is pretty cool. I am not a fan. So glad that I am going to be painting it.

Levi has sanded a lot of it so far.

I just need to remove the hardware and do the sanding on the detailed parts.

And get all the spider webs cleaned out from underneath it.

He also started sanding down the dresser for Kayla's room.

I told ya he was a sweetheart.

The plan for the drawers is to paint the hardware white, and find a pretty wallpaper pattern I like a put it on the drawer faces with the detail cut out and painted white. I am excited to do this too!

Levi also bought a Dremel!!!

Levi bought me new couches! I love them so so so much more then our other ones. These ones just look so much better in our family room! Oh! See the blanket on the chair? That is the color inspiration for my family room. Thanks Mom! The side tables aren't going to stay in the room. I am just putting them there until I find ones I like.

He tried to get me to go with recliners. I am not a big fan of recliners.

I won. :)

Now just imagine a peacock blue coffee table!

Oh yes it will be beautiful when it is finished!

I also have a big space behind the love seat area where the wall is blank.

I am going to make it a little kids area! This is the coffee table from the living room. The lid opens up and I have put games, puzzles, coloring books (color wonder magic ones) and also it is a place to put blankets. I want an area that Kayla and Kylie (when she is older) can play in so I don't have toys cluttering up the whole floor in the family room, just a little area all to themselves. I won't keep this table in there for them. I want to make a small farmhouse table with some cute chairs. I also want to make some cubby shelves to go along the walls. One under the picture frames and two along the bare wall.

These are the cubbies I would like to make. I would put hutch tops on top of two of them to have some bookshelves too. I would also have them stay creme color!

I have so many projects that I want to do! Ah!

I am getting a coffee table! I saw this on craigslist.org a couple days ago for $45 and the person selling it said that someone was coming to see it yesterday. Well, the person never showed up so.... It is mine! Aw...... I love it!

This is a dresser I just got for Kayla's room. Totally awesome! Especially for $20! (I love ksl!) I won't be able to work on it for a couple weeks due to just having a baby but I am super excited too! The lady that had it before didn't do the best job at painting it so that is a must fix! Also Mr. Magic Eraser with come into this work due to crayon drawings on the inside of the drawers. Other than that, so happy!

the labor story

Some of you know the story of how Kylie came but those of you who haven't heard it yet...

Induction date scheduled for February 4th at 7 am.

It all started around 7:30 pm Wednesday February 2nd right after I had just had dinner. Levi had been begging me for weeks to get his mom's recipe for burritos she made for him, his dad and his little brother on the last deer hunt. I finally gave in and made them. They were really good! Had enough spice to it and I well, loved it!

As usually after dinner Kayla seems to always have to go potty. So, to make it easier on myself, I take her then she goes straight into the bathtub so Levi and I can clean up dinner. While I was cleaning up, my stomach started hurting a little bit but I just thought Kylie didn't like the spiciness of the burritos and my body wasn't liking them either. (Being pregnant and eating something spicy usually sends me to the bathroom within the first 30 minutes after eating it. I don't mind because it is worth it ) After dinner was finally cleaned up, I hurry and ran to the bathroom. I felt better :)

Around 9 pm Kayla has playtime followed with "snuggle time" with daddy before bedtime. I don't mind at all because I can hurry and get some stuff done around the house that is hard to due when it is just me and Kayla during the day. And she gets to spend time with her daddy. (she is a total mommies girl) Levi and her were running around the house chasing each other and hiding, laughing and giggling, and then the every once in a while "mommy save me". I enjoy watching them play. Well, my stomach started hurting again. Nothing serious I thought, just from dinner. Then I noticed that I was feeling this pain every 10-15 minutes. Hmmm.... maybe just some braxton hicks.

I finally was able to get Kayla in bed at 10:30 and we had our usual routine. Read a book, say our prayers, and then Mommy sings her 2 bedtime songs: The Jesus Song (aka Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam) and Twinkle Star. I started off with Twinkle Star and right in the middle of it I started getting that sharp pain again. So trying to sing the song and go through the pain was a little difficult and a little red head asked me to sing it again because she said she didn't like how I sang it the first time. So I did and she approved.

Kayla was in bed asleep finally by 10:45 and now Levi and I could watch the movie he had picked up from Redbox. We started the movie and I started feeling the pain again. This time, exactly 10 minutes apart. I finally decided to go take a warm bath to see if that would help them go away and luckily, they did! Yeah! By this time, midnight to be exact, the movie was over and Levi and I went to bed.

1:30 am strikes and I wake up with my stomach killing like no other! Holy moly did it hurt! Levi woke up asking what was wrong and I told him that my stomach had been hurting a little bit last night but nothing like it was now. (Levi sees me with not a very high pain tolerance but this pain was a pain like I had never felt before) He told me to just walk around the house for a little bit and it will go away. So, I walked around the house, and had to pee. Went into the bathroom, did so and then another pain hit again. Again, I walked around the house trying to see if that would help but then, another pain. I timed it and I was having "pains" every 3-5 minutes. So not cool!

This went on for an hour. Contraction, have to pee, contraction, have to pee. I called the hospital to see what the labor and delivery nurse said to do and she told me that I should try and take a warm bath again since it made them go away earlier. I did what she said but this time, it made them worse! I yelled at Levi telling him it is time to go to the hospital and call my parents so that we could either drop Kayla off or they could pick her up. Well, he comes into the bathroom and said, "I sent your dad a text." He then proceeded to get into the shower. What the!? Uh... I am in pain and you are going to shower! and you sent a freaking text! (Again he didn't think I was serious) I quickly threw in all the stuff I would need for the hospital in a bag and then fell to the floor bawling my eyes out with how bad the contractions started to hurt.

3 am comes around and we are driving over to my parents place and Levi mentions he hadn't received a text back from my dad. Well, I told him sternly, "Call!" He did 7 times and they didn't answer. I called them once and they picked up right away. hehe We let them know what was going on and we were to their house by 3:15 dropping Kayla off and while walking out to the car I had to stop because I could not walk at all! Levi finally realized that I was serious!

Oh, did I mention that my doctor is in Cedar City! I loved the hospital experience up there when we had Kayla and told them I will have all my kids up there with how happy we were.

3:26 am - off we were on our way to Cedar! This time, I was having contractions every 2 minutes! They were killing me. This drive was going to suck! (When Kayla was born I never really felt contractions because I was induced and had an epidural.) The drive did suck! We arrived at the hospital at 4:15 am. Got to the labor department by 4:24.

The nurses asked me to go in and empty my bladder. I not only emptied my bladder but my water broke as well. Lovely. She checked me and sure enough I was fully dilated. The 2 nurses on call were running around trying to get everything ready because this baby was coming. With no epidural! Ahhh! I had considered not doing an epidural with my experience last time but now feeling the pain I surely wanted one. The nurse called my doctor, who got there in record time of 4 minutes (usually 15 he said) and Kylie came at 4:43 am.

For all who want to know. I am totally for natural for the next baby! I don't recommend doing natural for your first. But for all the kids you have after that, the way has already been paved so it really isn't that bad now that it is over with. Recovery is so much faster too and you don't feel out of it! So if you can with stand the pain, it only last for a little bit.

So on one of the websites I have been fascinated with (ms-smartie-pants.blogspot.com to be exact) she talked about how she likes to "splurge" on at least one thing for each room and find the rest of her decor at either thrift stores or on craigslist. Well, I have decided to do the same! Of course I am not going to spend hundreds to thousands of Washingtons on just one thing. Heck no! That is crazy! To me a splurge on something is like this pillow I got for Doodle-bug's bed on Saturday at TJMaxx for $20. Not to bad for a splurge I must say. Plus I had a gift card so it really didn't cost me, well anything.

Splurging, ha!

feeling a little craftiness in me

I don't know if it is the "nesting" or being at the end of "being pregnant" that makes me so anxious to do all these things but I am so excited to start on them. There is just so much I want to do! I know it will be a little different when Kylie gets here but I still am going to make these my goals this year. It will probably be added on to so just bare with me!

First off on the list, I am going to make this for the "Doodle-bugs" birthday by April 25th. It looks super easy and fun to do! I found it on the web sight kojodesigns: kojotutorial- upcycled "vintage" baby buggy and am super excited to make this first!

Second, I am going to make this bedside table, X2, for our master bedroom. I am also way super excited about this too due to the how to tutorial found here Farmhouse Bedside Table by Ana White. I love how she has a step-by-step on everything including how much it will cost to make it ($20-$50 depending on what wood I use) and well, everything! Ana White's website is a DIY website on Pottery Barn style furniture. LOVE IT! Seriously, you have to check it out!

The third thing, I am going to make is this comforter! Yup, I am going to make my very own comforter! This comforter is a knock off of an Anthropologie one that seriously costs $268! Uh, not going to spend that much on a comforter! Sorry! So, kojodesign has come up with their own here kojodesigns: kojotutorial: anthropologie inspired knotted beddi... along with the tutorial on how to do it(which has 2 parts)! so So SO!!!! (imagine me singing) excited to make this!

Yeah for goals! If you haven't noticed in all the things I have listed above, I put "I am going to". I have come to found out throughout my life that I always say, "I want to".

Sorry to all that follow and read our blog for I have not been posting as much as I thought I would. I have decided to start off with my blogging again with a look into the room of the one and only

"Kayla-bug"

It is still a work in progress I must say. I want to put things up on the wall and maybe paint. (not for sure what though) The dresser that is in her room now won't be hers soon for it goes in the baby's room and she is getting a new one that is currently up in the Salt Lake area and won't be down here for another couple of weeks. But hey I got it for $20 which is not bad at all I think. The rocking chair which I was so worried where I would put it, goes absolutely perfect in her room and I didn't have to repaint it or nothing'! I saw it at a thrift store when we were down visiting Levi's parents one year and they got it for me that Christmas.

Onto the bed! Which I absolutely love love love! I found the bed on craigslist in Vegas for $35 but it didn't have any rails. Luckily, Boulevard had some out at their outlet place for $10. I freshened up the paint on the bed along with fixing a crack in one of the rails which was a total of $10 to do that and wala! A new bed for $55 bucks!

Can you believe I found that bedskirt at the DI! My sister and I have started to a thing called "Thrifty Thursdays" were we go to random second hand stores in town or TJMaxx and Ross and try and find things that we could both use in our homes. The bedskirt I was first iffy about getting and didn't get it on our first Thursday there. My sis found it still there a week later and she got it for me for $3! Woohoo! So awesome! The green quilt was a gift to Levi and me on our Wedding Day from my wonderful Grandma and Grandpa Smith and it also goes perfectly with how I wanted to decorate her room. The Euro Shams still aren't covered. (I still don't know what I want to cover them with) I have had those for a couple of years as a gift from my parents 2 years ago.

SO, slowly but surely I am decorating our home one room at a time.

Little Kylie is due February 7th. It seems just around the corner but yet the days seem to drag on and on as the count down continues for our little one to arrive. Today I am 34 weeks along. Many say I have 6 weeks left but I am glad to say that my wonderful Doctor will induce me a week early if Kylie isn't here yet. I wouldn't mind even if she came a couple weeks sooner then that just as long as she is a healthy little one and we can come home right from the hospital.

Princess Snow White Hair

Kayla was calling this her "princess Snow White" hair do (I have no idea why). I love this one so much! It took a little longer to do then all the other ones I have tried, lets say 30-45 minutes longer, but it was so worth it! We received so many compliments while we were out and about running errands this morning too! I seriously love doing Kayla's hair now!

This is the top view. I put the front half of her hair in a french twist braid to one side.

The rest of her hair I divided into ten parts and did a puff braid to gather to the same side as the french twist braid.

I then put it into a little bit of a messy bun with a bow to go with it.

I love it! I hope to try another style tomorrow.

I have realized that I should maybe start buying hair spray again. At least a not very strong one for Kayla's hair. I don't use it but it would help keep some of her fly aways down. I also realized I need to buy more elastics. :)

Hair Drama!

As many of you know Kayla, she has a very strong personality. Ever since she was little she has never ever, and I mean NEVER let me do her hair. Only on "special occasions" am I maybe privileged to do her hair and it almost everytime is ripped out within the first 10-15 minutes.

A couple of weeks ago we went to see Tangeled at the movie theater, which is my new favorite movie by the way, and Kayla loved how long Rapunzel's hair was and how she let the little girls in the village do her hair in what Kayla calls "princess hair".

This lady has 3 adorable little girls that she does so many different hair dos on and they are so cute! So Monday, I tried doing her hair! She was a little iffy at first about my yanking her hair around and getting it all wet again but she let me do it! I was so amazed too of how she kept it in all day long! Tuesday rolled around and she again let me do it. Wednesday, same thing and today even better! I did this one on Kayla today and it looks absolutely adorable!

Kayla was actually super excited about it too! She wanted to call and talk to daddy to tell him all about it on the way over to my parents house. She was so excited to tell him that she had "princess hair" again today!

So hopefully, and I am really crossing my fingers!, from now on Kayla will let me do her hair all cute and stuff!

I know, I know. I haven't posted on anything that has happened in a while. That is soon to come I promise! I just have to write down a funny thing Kayla did last night first.

Well, I have been recently telling her that if she isn't a good girl, Santa won't bring her any presents for Christmas. She has been doing a lot better but she still has her moments. Yesterday, while we were at my parents house for dinner Kayla picks up the phone and this is her conversation:

Me: What you doing?

Kayla: Callin Santa.

Me: Why?

Kayla: I wanna talk to him.

Me: Ok. (knowing she doesn't know that you have to push the # buttons to call someone)

Kayla: Yeah. Hi Santa, I want toys for Christmas. Ok. Uh, thats it. (by this time the phone starts making that peeping sound because it has been off of the hook for too long)

Kayla: (while looking up at the sky) Jesus! Please stop that I talking to Santa!

hahah! Jamie and I just busted up laughing!

The story behind why she said this is (I think) is that Kayla and I have been talking about how Jesus and Heavenly Father like us to be nice to everyone and when we do things that they don't like they are sad. I think that she knew she had been a stinker that day and even though I told her Santa's elves saw what she is doing and went to go tell Santa she would call him and make it all better. She knew she hadn't been the best little girl and so she thought Jesus was sad and made the phone start to beep.

The other night while getting milk at the store Kayla saw the moon in the sky and noticed that it was only a sliver. She asked me why it wasn't big and I told her Jesus and Heavenly Father made it that way today. She did the same thing that night too! Looked up to the sky and told Jesus to make the moon big because she likes it better that way.

Kayla: I be a princess when I get married.

Levi: You sure will be.

Kayla: Yeah! (pause for 30 sec) No... I be Tink Tink.

Levi: You can be Tink Tink right now?

Me: Yeah then when you get married you can be a princess....

Kayla: (thinking about it) No, I just be Tink Tink.

I am so happy that I am finally into the third trimester! You know what that means. I can start counting backwards for when our little Kylie will be here! I now have 2.5 more months! Yeah!!!!! My doctors appointment yesterday went very well. I am measuring on schedule now and baby cakes is doing fantabulous! She currently weighs about 2lbs 12oz and has the cutest chubby cheeks! Kayla had kissy lips but Kylie has chubby cheeks and kissy lips!

(or at least I don't remember from the ultra sounds Kayla having chubby cheeks)

So fun! We weren't really able to get a great head shot of her due to her wanting and keeping her right arm in front of her face the whole time but here you go!

Trick-or-Treatin' Time

Kayla had a fun Halloween this year! She has known exactly what to do for well lets say the whole month. She would always say, "knock on the door, then say trick or treat! They give me candy and I say Thank you!" She wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween until we (she) saw this cute little lady bug outfit at TJMaxx.

Jamie had a little kids Halloween Party at her house on Friday which was way cute and fun!Then it was my parents annual Halloween Party at their place! It was fun to see what everyone dressed up as this year. I never know what my parents are going to be because they are always so sneaky about it.

Levi ran the boat up to his Grandparents place for the winter and while he was gone I decided to dress up as well, a DirecTv Man. When he walked through the door he refused to even kiss me and swore he wouldn't the rest of the night as well. Levi said he was dressed as a "punk". haha

Kayla had so much fun going door to door saying "Trick-or-Treat". She started out practically yelling it at whomever opened the door and then about an hour later she was exhausted and started whispering it and forgetting to say thank you. Here favorite "treat" she got for the night was ice cream at Santa's House.

Tonights Recipe

For tonights dinner I made a Yummy Beef Stew. I had all the ingredients around so I thought I would give it a try and see if it was a keeper. I think it is so here is the recipe.

- 1.5 lbs beef stew meat (I am sure you could use some leftover roast meat or steaks too)

- 1 onion cut into 8 halves

- 1 can stewed tomatoes (I didn't have stewed tomatoes just Italian diced so I used that)

- 1.5 tsps seasoned salt (I used Season All)

- .5 tsp pepper

- 2 cups water

- 2 tbsps flour

- 12 small red potatoes, cut in halves or fourths depending on the size

- 1 bag ready to eat baby cut carrots (I just put in 5 full sized carrots, peeled and sliced)

Directions: put stew meat, onion, tomatoes, salt and pepper in Crock Pot/Slow Cooker. In separate bowl, mix water and flour together then add to Crock Pot. Cook on High for 2 hours then add remaining potatoes and carrots. Cook another 2 hours. You are done! Enjoy.

(the stew meat I used was also frozen so you don't have to worry about unthawing anything)

Thinking...and Trying

I have been trying to get my "domestication on". What I mean by that is trying different things out for dinner that are easy to do and also healthy(ish) for me and my family. Why do ask. Well, when baby Kylie comes in February I want to have some meals already set out that are easy to make that I know my family will enjoy.

One of the things that I absolutely love is my CROCK POT! or a Slow Cooker called by some. Majority of the things I have made in it are always big enough to save for another meal. I just learned that I can also freeze some of the stuff that I make too! What a great idea! Thanks to Hip2save.com I have come up with the idea of freezing my leftovers!

Anyway what I am getting at is that I think I want to share the recipes that I have made with all of you, if there is any that enjoy reading this blog at all. All of the recipes I have made are easy. Some require some work but nothing to aggravating. I can do it with my 2.5 year old and majority know how Kayla is.

I will start with tonights meal, on a separate post of course, and also post recipes that I have made in the past that I will for sure be keeping. I will do my best to keep it posted and up do date on all the meals I have made also.

Let's see. There is a bat living under our front entry way. How is that to start out the day. I found it early this morning all huddled up in one of the corners of our front porch. Should I call animal control? I dunno. If it is still there tomorrow I think I will but for now I am just going to avoid going out the front door.

My parents are also out of town so I am taking care of their place until tomorrow. While getting the mail today and sorting through it, I was almost stung by a scorpion. Yup a scorpion. My reaction kicked in and I flung the mail all over their front walkway. Luckily the little booger landed right in front of me so I could just squish it right there.

What will I find next? Hopefully nothing.

Peter Pan is coming to town???

That's right! Snow Canyon High School is putting on Peter Pan this year.

Why am I so excited about this you might ask? It is one of Kayla's favorite shows to watch! Mind you it is the Peter Pan Musical Movie that she has seen numerous of times. Kayla has a favorite song off of the movie too. "I Gotta Crow!" She runs around the house singing and pretending like she is Peter Pan crowing and flying. I am so excited to take Kayla to see this!

Now I just have to wait for tickets to go on sale.

CHEX MIX PARTY!

I love getting things in the mail! Especially when it is FREE! HA! I signed up like forever ago to "host" a party at my house and to have any company send me free stuff to put it on...

Lets just say I was finally picked to host a CHEX MIX FOOTBALL PARTY! Woot! Woot! Just barely the UPS dude dropped it off at my door. How excited was I to open a box with free stuff in it. I wasn't able to get a picture of the box before it was opened, due to a 2.5 year old but this is what was inside...

A Chex Mix Party bowl, 3 different bags of Chex Mix, 2 packages of football plates, a pack of football napkins, and 25 coupons! Looks like party time!

So BYU, you better have a good game this Saturday.

Baby Bump Update

I had my 24 week check-up today and everything is looking great! Kylie is doing so good and she actually held still enough for the doctor to get a good look at her heart this time. We were also able to get some good pictures too!

She is measuring right where she should be but I am measuring at only 23 weeks along. But we think that is due to me being a little bit more sick at the beginning of this pregnancy. They do have me down for due February 6th! Woohoo! 1 day closer!

Krumpet's Witches Night Out

Krumpet's had their annual Witches Night Out thursday night and let me just say,

IT WAS NUTZ!

I couldn't believe how crazy it was in there! Elisha, my next door neighbor and good friend, and I went last year and there was hardly anyone. My sister, my mom and I went this year and it is what I would imagine Black Friday being like. Packed like a sardine can!

I did get some good steals on stuff though. Like the big BOO wood letters, a Frankenstein's Monster metal face, an If the Shoe Fits... metal sign, another BOO metal sign for outside, 2 Candy Corns, and a small colorful Boo! blocks all for $34! If it hadn't been the 75% off it

would have been over $100! My mom and sis scored some cute fun stuff too! They also were giving away some fun little Halloween star metal signs at the door.

Somehow I scored 3 (total of 12 stars)

So, talking with my dad this morning he said he forgot to tell me what Kayla told them when they watched her Friday night for us. They had just gotten done eating dinner and were on their way to the rodeo when Kayla was playing and looking through a book in her carseat. She was going through the book pointing to all the animals and saying what they all were when she came upon the cow. She pointed to the cow and asked my parents, "What's that?" They both responded saying, "It's a cow." Kayla responded back with, "NO! MEAT!" buahahahaha...

We found out what we are having!

and ..... it is a.......

BABY! .... we aren't telling any one yet... SORRY CHARLIE!

haha but it will be soon I promise. For now I will just refer to the baby as "the baby". Levi didn't want to tell anyone until Christmas and in my opinion that is toooooo long away. So we decided that we will be surprising the parents(soon to be grandparents again). I won't tell you how or when but soon.

My Doc appointment went good too! I had only gained 2 lbs since my last doc appointment which I was super duper excited and happy about due to feeling huge already and I am only 19 weeks along. But you are suppose to gain a lbs a week too but the doc wasn't too worried.

"The baby" is fine and healthy too! They did all the measurements and "the baby" is doing well, fine and healthy. hah I am still set on being due February 7th. I wish it was a little sooner but what can you do?

"You can't take the bun out of the oven if it ain't done cookin."

We did get some pictures but "the baby" wouldn't let us get a cute profile picture so they are going to be doing another ultra sound on the next appointment. I do wonder if "the baby" will have red hair like Kayla when she was born or come out with brown hairor heck even blonde! hm... that makes me so excited to find out!

It is crazy how time flies. That means I am almost half way there! Yeah!

FUNNY THINGS KAYLA HAS DONE:

~ When Kayla starts acting up or throwing a fit I call her a stinker...
This last week, when she would get mad at me, I was called a stinker like this,
"No, you stinker!" haha I just have to laugh. and smile :)

~ For Labor Day Weekend we went to Lake Powell. The wind was horrible on Sunday! and I mean it did not stop at all. It kept switching directions and blew all night long until the sun rose the next morning. Anyway, the whole time Kayla would look up at the sky and scream, "No Fader, no win!" ( No Heavenly Father, no wind!) haha. Now, whenever there is even the slightest breeze outside she says it.

~ She went up to my sister Jamie while she was feeding Landon and said,
"Baby Landon eatin boobie!"

~ We (I) recently moved Kayla back to her new room.

When she is in trouble or won't listen we tell her she needs to go to her room until she can calm down. Well, the day I moved her to her new room, she got in trouble and Levi told her to go sit in her room until we came and got her. She went up to her old room, which I had locked the door to remind her it wasn't her room any more, grabbed the handle, didn't even try opening it screamed and said this, "Umph, no old room!" ran all the way back to her new room screaming, "My new room!" where she slammed the door and threw a huge fit.

It was this dude's Birthday yesterday! Yeah! He turned a big 26!

We had a fun day. Of course he worked and I cleaned the house, but I made him one of his favorite dishes for dinner! Tuna casserole, not my fav but he loves it. I kind of winged it too so it tasted a lot better to me then when I usually make it. I think I will stick with my wingin it receipe for it haha!

After dinner, we went to watch him play softball on one of the teams he is on. Skyler, Jamie, Shayden and Landon came out to watch too! Kayla loves hanging out with her cousin, she is a major copy cat and does whatever Shayden does, which at times it a little scary due to them both being little dare devils.

Everytime Kayla saw her daddy, she would always yell at him Happy Birthday! I wonder who told her to do that.... hm... haha. She also sang him the Happy Birthday song as follows:

"Happy Birfday to you. Happy Birfday to you! Happy Birfday from ELMO!

Happy Birfday to you!"

(A birthday card from her Birthday was an Elmo singing one. So Elmo taught her the song haha)

Levi's team won both of their games! WOOHOO! This never happens! They always win the first one and then for some reason loose the second one. Levi played awesome too! He hit the winning run to win the last game to so he was pretty stoked.

After the games, we all went to DQ for some ice cream to celebrate the 26 year old's birthday. My parents came over and met up with us there right after their meetings. Mom was happy, she loves DQ. All in all it was a happy day for Levi.

But they are off my parents camera! Found these today of stuff we have done throughout the summer. So here we go!

Kayla loves going to the cabin!

We were at my parents house alot the week my Uncle passed away. Suddenly we couldn't find Kayla. We looked everywhere then found her in the bathroom naked. She said she was dirty and was getting all clean.

For the 24th of July we did fireworks at my parents house. It was fun. My sis will kill me with putting up this picture due to the croch shot. Oh well, they are memories and you were almost done with your pregnancy.

Layton, Levi's brother stayed with us on the weekends during the summer. He was with us for the fireworks too. They, Levi, Skyler and Layton, put 10 of the strobe light ones together. It was hurting Levi's eyes. And everyone else's. Not such a good idea.

Shayden also turned 5 this year and had a swimmin' party. Kayla was iffy about getting in the pool. She then saw the slide and had to go down it.

She didn't like it too much afterward, even though Skyler was there to catch her.

She sat on the roof tiles the rest of the time.

And I love this one too! Next year Kayla has to get surgery. She has a hernia right above her belly button. Poor thing. It doesn't bother her any though.

Jamie had her baby on the 4th of August. He was 2 hours old when I finally got to hold him!

Kayla has been saying some funny things this week...

I have to hurry and post them so I don't forget.

-Her new favorite cereal is Lucky Charms which she calls Yucky Charms haha

-We went to the Dixie State College opening social to-do last night and there was a little blow up air walk through thingy that she wanted to go through. She was so excited and when it came to her turn she refused to go because she said there was a pirate in there that was going to get her.

-I taught her the song I Love to See the Temple and she wants me to sing it all the time. She even tries singing it and then gets shy and laughs at herself.

-She has 5 different kisses now. She calls them 1-juicey kiss 2-eskimo kiss 3-futteryfly(butterfly) kiss 4-fishy kiss 5-spiderman kiss (this is her and daddy's special kiss)

-She now counts to 10! woohoo getting up there! She always skips 3 and I always remind her to say 3 after she says 4. She is a little confused on the order due to this so now she goes:

1,2,4 and 3,5,6,7,8,9,10 (she seriously does say and)

-Always wants music on to dance. (wonder where she gets this from... I do need to start teaching her due to the dance moves she has right now is from daddy... enough said)

-Before she goes to bed she gets 5 minutes of snuggle time. After her snuggle time is up she always says, "just 2 more minutes?"

* Kayla's new smile face (silly face) she also has a silly nose that she made up where she tries and pulls her nostrils out like her mouth.

*Her favorite lunch time meal at my parents house is nicken niddle noop (chicken noodle soup) My mom has gotten a little sick of this for lunch.

* She loves sunglasses. She probably has about 10 different ones and she actually does wear them all.

*She loves her daddy like no other! She had a little scare with water a couple months again so we are trying to get her use to it again. She is doing awesome too! She will actually let go of the boat and want to swim with her life jacket on. Just as long as you don't go too far.

*Again like I said last week, she still wants to go camping some more! She loved it at the Hunt reunion and she wants to go again.

*She is my little snuggle bug! I love her dearly! With being a lot more sick with this pregnancy Kayla has been such a sweetie.

Ever since we went to Disneyland back in June she thinks the Temple or any LDS Temple is a "Princess Castle". So as a surprise we went to the "Princess Castle" and she was so so so excited. She went all the way to the top of the stairs about 5 times and when I said I wanted to take her picture she did a TA DA for me. What a little cutie pie! We also walked around the Temple and she kept saying, "Mommy, they are singing the Jesus Song!" I am still amazed at how much little kids are so close to the spirit. So there was obviously some type of singing going on that only the ears of babes can hear. It made my heart warm when she said that.Kayla and I have also been going to a lot of Softball Games to watch Levi play. At one of the many fields they played at this summer they had a play ground right next to it. She loved it! She kept poking her head through all the holes saying "Take a picture Mommy. Cheese!" We also went to dinner with Great Papa & Mama Whited for Layton's last night in town. We went to Ninja in Cedar City. It was so yummy. I have been craving interesting things with this pregnancy and after eating some yummy sushi at Ninja (the cooked sushi of course) I craved it the whole next day. Anyway, after dinner we went to get some Ice Cream or as Kayla calls it E Ceem at DQ. I was just going to share my ice cream cone with her and she ended up wanting to eat all of it so we ended up getting her her own cone. She was in heaven. She always asks to go get E Ceem now. She has been so sweet and I love her so much!

Kayla has also been saying and doing the funniest things lately.

- She calls freckles not just Poke a dots but Poke A Lots

- She calls the Temple a Princess Castle (I don't think Heavenly Father minds it one bit)

- Out of nowhere she will say "Look at Me!" and walk sticking her tummy out

- Every morning when she wakes up, the first thing she says is, "Chalk o late Melk"
She loves her Chocolate Milk

- Levi just got the new Droid X and he couldn't find it for a little bit. He kept asking Kayla to help find his phone. He had his old one on the couch and Kayla was very persistent that his old one was the phone he was looking for. And kept trying over and over again to put it in his hand saying, "Daddy here it is!" Over and over.

- She thinks that everything is hers, My jeep, My truck, My house, and so on. And if I say yes that is Your bed. She will correct me and say No, MY bed.

- This one isn't so cute but it is so funny but serious at the same time. She is into wanting to do things they way she wants to and if she doesn't get her way, for instance not wanting to put her underwear on she will yell at you "NO!" as loud as she can then run to her room and slam the door. (wow we are going to have wonderful teenage years)

- Every time we go to the bank or drive by a bank she always yells SUCKER!

- Every time we go to a gas stations she yells Bug Juice! (it's a kids drink)

- She loves to help make the beds and I asked her one day to come help me make Mommy and Daddy's bed. This was her reply, "You can make your own bed!" Where in the world did she get that from...
- All she talks about since last night is wanting to go camping. We are going camping this weekend but that is all she wants to do now.

- I was in folding clothes the other day and from the other room I hear, "Bear, go time out! No, bear you in touble. Time out! Stay there 2 minutes. No, Time out!"
(I couldn't help but laugh, as you can tell she doesn't like to be sent to time out)

So, I will try and keep you posted weekly on whats going on in our lives. I have been very bad at it and I am hoping that I will do better.

Disneyland!

So we just got back from Disneyland! Woohoo! Kayla loved Disneyland. There was a shuttle bus that took us from the hotel to the park and the next day she kept wanting to get on the bus to go to Disneyland. Such a sweet little girl.

As you can tell she loved the Tea Cups ride. She thinks it is so fun to be dizzy. Haha, we just laughed at her the whole ride because it was so funny!

We also went to the beach while we were there. Kayla was a little iffy about it at first but then she loved it! She would chase the water back out to the ocean and then run away from it when it was coming back in.

So I went to go fix Kayla's scooter yesterday. One of the handles pom poms fell of into her blow up pool. So I grabbed it and out ran this scary thing! It was huge! 2 inches huge! I found out today that it is called a Wind Scorpion or Sun Spider! It is so scary looking!

Look at the chompers on this thing! I am so glad it didn't bite me! Or Kayla or Rebecca due to them always playing in the pool even when there is no water.....

Van Adventures

So we couldn't find our camera so you will see our trip from internet pictures

Levi and I went our first roadtrip together without Kayla on Friday. It was weird being away from her over night be it was nice to spend some alone time with Levi. Besides Kayla had a fun exciting sleepover with my parents.

So off we went in the DirecTV van for a long weekend.

I found out that Disney/Pixar are the ones that are filming a movie in Big Water and Lake Powell. You can see right off the highway that they are filming John Carter of Mars. It should be interesting. I have never read anything about what the film will be. Hopefully it won't be hoaky since it is suppose to be Mars....

From there we went on to Levi's first job which was in Motezuma Creek (really Anthen) but that's what it said on his work order. On the way there we ate at a McDonalds and they had $.59 Cheeseburgers!!! That is right $.59 Cheeseburgers. When was the last time it was at that price???

From there we went through Monument Valley and saw the place where Forrest Gump ran

(in the movie of course)

Anyway Levi got his job done and then it was off to the Super 8 Hotel in Blanding.

Did you know they serve breakfast at Subway? Well I just found out and it wasn't that bad. I smelt Subway on me the rest of the day which I didn't like but the food was good.

I also found out that the houses that Native American's live in are called a Hogan. I thought that was pretty cool.

Throughout the day Saturday, I saw lots of these....

yup goats.... they were everywhere just roaming around. Well for majority of the jobs Levi had where out in the middle of knowhere so you were bound to see anything.

We did drive by this place....

And saw some Indian Ruins... Levi said there are tons of them that he has found whenever he is out here for work.

We went through Moab on the way home and picked up this yummy drink.

I am not a big fan of cream sodas but this was yummy!

We also got dinner to go from this place...

It was good. Levi was so excited about the fries and spicy cheese dip or whatever it is. It was surprisingly good.

From there on it was non stop to get Kayla from my parents.

i don't like running on the treadmill.... But good thing is that I am sore everyday! I actually love being sore!!! I feel like I have accomplished something when I am sore...

Day 81

So yesterday I started my training.

Woke up yesterday morning and come to find out my jeans even fit snug. My goodness I didn't like that at all. Yes, mother nature had called but it never did that before!!! So on went the fat pants and off to work. I had an apple for breakfast, a small beef salad from Bajio for lunch and for dinner I had a salad with chicken jumbalya. I must admit. I did have a DP for lunch. I hadn't had one for a week so I think I am doing pretty good on the soda. Then it was bed time for Kayla. She went to bed pretty easily so Levi and I were able to go straight into working out.

I want to focus on 2 areas for the first day, so I focused on thighs and abs.

For my thighs I did:
1: 3 sets of squats with a ball for
2: 3 sets of Flamingo Balance for
3: 3 sets of Lunges with dumbbells
4: Single Leg Circle each side rotating different ways
5: Plies 10 min

For abs I did:
1:Bicycle Excercise
2: Exercise Ball Crunch
3: Regular Crunches
4: Long arm crunch
5: Reverse crunch
6: Plank

Levi and I worked out for a total of 1 hour 30 minutes

By next Wednesday Levi and I will take full body pictures to hopefully see some progress.

For now on to day 80!

This is exactly how I feel right now... about my hair. I like long hair, Levi loves long hair, but the longer my hair grows the more frustrating it is to figure out what to do with it... UGH! I just want to chop it off! Does anyone have any idea what I should do with it???

I am going to put myself to the test. Yes, that is right to the test... of getting my but back in shape. Okay, well not just my butt, but my whole entire body inside and out. I am wanting to get from a size 7 pant size down to a size 4 and back to 120 lbs which right now, I will not lie to you I am 140-145 lbs. Yes, I am very disappointed in myself on letting this happen to me due to before I had Kayla I was always between 115-125 lbs.

This is why I have decided I want to make a change. I am going to write an entry everyday of how it is going and what I have been doing and well... everything! I will not leave anything out pertaining to getting my body back in shape. Measurements, weight, what I have done, what I ate, and most important, how I feel. Yes, Levi and I have been talking about adding on to our family. And it would be great to have another baby but I want to have another baby when I feel better about how I look.

So, starting tomorrow morning I will be starting my self test. Oh wait! A goal date! Let's see... I think July 24th would work. Since that is the date that I will be doing my first ever 5k run. So 81 days total to go to get from 145 to 120 and a 7 to a 4.

So for the last week Kayla has not been sleeping through the night which means, we don't sleep through the night. I talked with my friend Elisha and she said it was probably growing pains. Well Sunday night I was so tired of her waking up that we decided to give her Children's Motrin. Luckily it worked! I was able sleep a full 8 hours Sunday night! Oh my goodness how wonderful and marvelous it was to not be woken up by a screaming child!

Come to find out on Monday.... the medication I gave to her was recalled!!!! What the crap? I felt horrible!!! Plus not only that, all the meds we have for her (Tylenol and Benadryl) were recalled as well. Goodness gracious you think the FDA would be on top of all this sooner than later.

Guess it is back to no sleeping during the night.

I have started to like shopping online lately. I really do! They are a lot of bargains online that you won't find anywhere else. I also don't like going around and seeing that other people are wearing the exact same thing as me or my daughter. So I have been trying to be creative in my dinner making and I came across a website Utah Deal Diva's to be exact and she had a really yummy Alfredo Sauce that many of you would love. And it is so easy and makes a lot! All the money I spent was practically $1.58 for the cream cheese, $0.88 for Penne Pasta (on sale at Wal-mart) and $1.66 for Whole milk. All the other ingredients I already had. Very very good! I put the leftovers in the fridge for when Levi gets home from work and the rest of the sauce I put in the freezer to try a Creamy Tomato Pasta for next Wednesday. Anyway here is the recipe if any of you are interested.

Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients:
6 TBSP Butter
4 TBSP Flour
4 cups whole milk
Block cream cheese
1 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (I used the Kraft but you can use fresh if you want)
2 Tsp garlic powder
salt & pepper to taste

Directions: Melt butter in saucepan. Whisk in flour. Gradually add milk, whisking as you go. Pour a little in then let it heat up and thicken and so on until all milk is added. Once milk is added and is hot (NOT BOILING) add cream cheese combining with whisk. Heat sauce back up before adding parmesan cheese. Simmer til all is melted and mixed together well. Add garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. You can serve this with cooked chicken and veggies or whatever you would like.

This recipe would be really good with my almost Pizza Factory Breadsticks! Which I can't find right now but when I do I will post it on here.

As many of you know Kayla had an interview with a talent agency called "Craze" well the lady and I were pretty excited and she was talking about how well she would do and she has the perfect look that people are looking for... then she said that we would need to pay $225 just to start up a web page for her. Are you serious??? Heck no! I know what to look for in an agency! I'm not that stupid! She then asked me for a check to get the web page started so I just went along with it saying I don't carry it with me. Anyway, she gave me her phone number to call her with a credit card to get it going. To the talent scout at Craze Agency I say, "ALL YOU WANT IS MONEY! If my daughter is so great and would do wonderful in the modeling industry then you pay the stinkin money! I give your company a thumbs down!"

As Kayla would say, "See ya, BYE!"

(Kayla did make a quarter though, the scout gave it to her hehehe)

It's not an Earthquake.....

For the past week, from about 8 pm to 10:30 pm I have been feeling little earthquakes like no other. After I would feel them I would turn the news on and nothing was being reported. It was so strange to me how the news could miss something going on like this. Well, last night while I was sitting and watching my new fav show on tv, Life Unexpected, I felt it again but bigger! They have all lasted about the same amount of time, 10 sec, but this rattled the house a lot more than the previous ones have. I hurried and changed the channel to the news to see if anything had happened and still nothing like all the other ones. Well, Levi returned home from his soft ball games about 10:30 pm and said the earthquakes I have been feeling are actually test bombs in Nevada 70 miles from the Utah border.... hmm... I would have rather had it been little earthquakes then a bunch of freakin BOMBS! Can't they do it somewhere else?????

Levi's Trip to the Grand Canyon

He went with his dad and grandpa on a river rafting trip with Josh his buddy at work and some other people. The day they all left, Kayla came down with the swine flu. I am so excited! So Skylar, my bro in law, and my sister Jamie and my hubby have all been talking for the longest time about getting Kayla into a modeling agency. So last week I final sent an application in to The Craze Agency up in Sandy. After I filled out all the info and submitted her picture it said that the agency would contact us within 72 hours. Well the next day I was at Wally world and Levi calls and says check our e-mail so I did. And the loved Kayla! Usually from what I have heard about Craze is they don't take little kids but with the response we got back from them I am so excited. They were wanting us to travel up North to get Kayla going with the modeling/acting thing but we don't have any plans on going up there any time soon but sure enough they are going to be down here the first of March and we already have an appointment set up. So excited!!!!

So with the new insurance we just got I have been planning to take Kayla to the dentist. Yesterday was her dentist appointment with Dan Cox and for the past week Levi and I have been talking to her about it. She was pretty excited until we pulled up. She then clung to me like no other not wanting to go. (probably thought she was going to get a shot or something like at her regular doctor) But after a while she calmed down then it was her turn to see the dentist. She did not want to sit on my lap in the chair until the assistant showed her it went up and down. Kayla then wanted her to keep doing that over and over again by saying, "More! More!" (sounds more like "moe" when she says it) Then Dr. Cox came in and was so good with her! She actually let him look at her teeth. When it comes to brushing teeth at our house I have to lay her on the ground, sit on top of her so she can't move her arms and sing the ABC's twice to get her to let me brush her teeth. She is a little stinker but all in all Kayla did fantastic! She even got a new toothbrush and a prize for being so good! Thanks Dr. Cox! See you in 6 months!

So we went to the Kaibab with Ross, Lorie and the girls to get our first CHRISTMAS TREE! Not that we haven't had one before because we have... just not a real one! Anyway it was really fun! Usually the Kaibab has like 2 feet of snow whee we went but lucky for us there was one a couple inches so it was pretty easy. Kayla had fun too until it was her nap time and past lunch time then she got antzy. I think this will become a new family tradition!

So You Think You Can Dance?

So a lot of you know that I just tried out for So You Think You Can Dance? up in the SLC. Oh my goodness it was soooooo much fun and I meet so many new friends! It was so amazing to be in a room full of thousands of dancers that have the same passion as you!
Anyway.........

The audition started @ 1pm and we made it 10 minutes before the doors opened! Yeah really pushed it! So that made us at the end of the line! ugh what a long day it was.... I did get to meet Randi and Caitlin and they were just the sweetest most humble girls I have ever meet. I also was able to meet a lot of people that had auditioned from years past that made it onto the TV show which dorky me I thought was so cool! Like Phillips partner he tried out with and the two hip hop brothers (which only one was auditioning) and Caitlin's sister who was also really cute!

I also made some really good friends Natalie and Sara which we talked the whole eleven hours of waiting yes I sat and waited to audition for that long... But anyway we talked as if we had known each other forever! Everyone thought we were all old friends that came up together to audition hahaha!
Back to the audition! So we did 30 to 45 seconds of improve on the stage in a group up ten. I was #4 and it went really well for me! I got past the "producer" audition which I was extremely excited about! YEAH! Then all I needed was the yes from the judges! First cut was a Friday by the way and they wanted me to come back on sunday for the final audition day. So that night, at 1:30 am we drove four hours and arrived home at 5:30 am. Slept until 11 am, at lunch, slept again til 4 pm and left at 6 pm for Slc again. Wow long weekend of driving.

Then Sunday morning I had to be at Capital Theater at 7 am where I thought they would start the audition right away................... nope! we did all this TV shinanigan stuff until 11! I really couldn't believe how much of a process this whole thing was! GOING ON! We all warmed up and then the "producer" introduce Nigel, Mary, and Mia Michaels to us along with Cat Deely who really isn't that tall by the way! And Mia is just beautiful up close.

We all sat down and this is what Nigel told all of us! You are the last audition day for season 6. Honestly, we already have all the dancers we need for Vegas so we will only be taking probably 5 or 6 of you through to Vegas!

UGH! I was so mad and shocked that he said that! So they put us in groups of ten again and had us do improve again! And this is what he told me....." You are a beautiful dancer but we already have some that has your exact same style so we will not be putting you through to Vegas!"

Sad day..... but that made me just want to try even harder. So Season 7 better watch out because once they announce the first audition city I will be there to make sure I am the first one in my style! hahahaha

SIPPI CUPS

Yeah! I am so happy! We finally got Kayla on sippi cups. It was so easy too! Nuby makes this cup that has 3 different tops one like a bottle nipple, one a sippi and one that is like a straw. I started her on the bottle nipple one and went straight to the sippi and she didn't throw a fit or anything she took it so well. I was relieved because a lot of our friends have said it is the hardest thing to do. Yeah for no tantrums! (she also loves to brush her teeth)

TEETH

Kayla also has another tooth coming in! A while back her two front teeth started to come in and then they went back up. Well now only one tooth has started coming in with no sign of the other one to follow. Her smile be really funny now. She with now look like a vampire baby with one other tooth in the front. haha

LAKE POWELL

A couple of weeks ago we met Levi's family at Lake Powell for a weekend. We didn't do any swimming or anything just rode around on the boat and some fishing. Kayla has a thing with the steering wheel of anything that has one.

ok.... not really but Kayla really did bite me! She was really hyper this morning and I was holding her blanket and she thought that she was bitting her blanket but she was actually bitting my pj's and my skin! Holy moly I couldn't believe how bad it hurt! You see she only has 4 teeth, her carnivors on top and her front bottom ones. So there is a lot of strength going into her bitting since there is a big gap.

Anyway.... on a happy note she is finally walking! She still crawls a lot because she knows she can go faster but she walks as much as she can! Crazy how fast it goes by. Just the other day it seemed she was rolling over!

Also! I finally gave Kayla her first hair cut today. It wasn't a lot that I cut off but just enough to get the hair out of her eyes. I also think I did pretty good for giving my first hair cut.

One more story! I promise... Kayla has finally found out how to unroll the whole roll of toilet paper! Yup it finally happened last saturday.

Helping Mommy

Kayla is such a good helper. Either folding laundry and loading, unloading the dishwasher or loading, making the bed and taking off the sheets, she is always there wanting to help me out. She is such a little sweetie! I can't believe it has almost been nine months! I see why everyone I talk to says to treasure these moments.

Kayla is getting so smart and talking so much! She loves when we read books! She points at everything in the books wanting to know what everything is. She also took a bubble bath the other day and now she says bubbles! It's spounds more like bubba but we know what she means. She also says bye bye (bu bu) and da de and mum! When she says ba ba it isn't for a bottle it is for banana! Oh and boo is for books! I just can't believe how big she is getting! She now can stand by herself but is too scared to take any steps. Halloween is starting to get big with my family. For the past 2 years my mom has done a Halloween party and in order to eat you have to dress up. So this year, as my first sewing project, I decided to make my costume. I was Winnie Sanderson (Bette Midler) from Hocus Pocus. It was so much fun making my costume but Levi was sure glad when I was done. We had a wonderful time at the party and even Rosa's husband surprised everyone and came.

Kayla was a kitty cat for Halloween and my mom was an Egyptian.

So Kayla is already 5 months old. Holy moley how time flies! Well this morning I was cleaning our bathroom and I usually put Kayla on a blanket in our bedroom so I know what she is doing at all times. Lets just say she is a busy body just like her dad and is already trying to crawl. Well I was cleaning the tub when I heard a loud scream then really loud jabbering.
